OUR STORY
Immortal Jellyfish Creations is built out of a desire to help Christian women find transformation for themselves and their lives through the Word of God.
Like the butterfly, Immortal Jellyfish go through a metamorphic transformation called transdifferentiation. This is a rare process in which a mature, specialized cell can transform into a completely different mature, specialized cell. It is because of this process that Immortal Jellyfish can live in and alternate between two life stages, thus living forever.
What a beautiful way to represent the lives of Christians who, through the power of The Holy Spirit and the transformative Word of God, become new, immortal creations.
WELCOME. I'M KATHY
I am a wife, mother of two, musician, reader, quilter and lover of Jesus, animals and chocolate.
I am also deeply passionate about supporting my fellow sisters in Christ who have a genuine love for Jesus but find themselves worn out by the demands of daily life, making it challenging to prioritize time with Him.
I am here to stand alongside you, providing practical tools and resources to guide you into the richness of God’s Word. Through this journey, my aim is to lead you to the transformative power of scripture, allowing you to unveil and embrace the person God uniquely designed you to be, along with the purpose He has intricately woven into your life.
If you ever feel stuck in your faith walk, entertaining the notion that God couldn’t possibly use you for His divine purposes, let me assure you, dear sister, that such thoughts are misguided. In fact, those thoughts are a lie from the enemy.
Jesus has so much to share and offer you, dear sister, and He is calling to you everyday. Don’t let the noise of the world keep you from hearing His voice, discovering His plan and embracing the life He has for you.
The first step is as simple as opening up your Bible and spending time with Jesus.
My Faith Journey
I didn't grow up with any sort of relationship with God. As a family, we didn't even go to church. So when I went to college I took some religion classes because I was curious about God. Of those classes I was drawn to Eastern religions. I graduate with a degree in Religious Studies from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR.
My son begins guitar lessons from our local music store. He would continue those lessons for many years.
My senior year in college I wanted to learn to play the guitar. I bought my first acoustic for $50, taught myself chords and played for many years. 20 years later I wanted to hone my craft so I started taking lessons from my son's guitar teacher at that same local music store.
During the first two years of lessons my guitar teacher and I begin having discussions about religion and God. He brings me to Christ. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
Shortly after getting saved I begin attending church. I am absolutely terrified the first time I walk through the doors. It was Easter Sunday 2009. Exactly 3 years later I am baptized in that church.
I begin and continue to lead worship at my church. I also use my musical talents as a Music Therapist for many years.
When the global Covid-19 Pandemic hit everything changed. I lost my mother to cancer. I lost my job as a self-emplyeed Music Therapist and my Pastor, the only Pastor I have ever known, left our church.
I begin a new job and a new chapter of my life. I begin working at Brookdale Senior Living in Wooster--first as a program assistant in our memory care unit and then as the Program Coordinator in our assisted living community.
After-effects of the pandemic make it challenging to provide church services for the residents. I feel God nudging me for about a year to provide spiritual programming for them. It is not until June of 2023 that I am obedient to that call and write a devotional book. From this project Immortal Jellyfish Creations is born.
