This year has been one of profound reflection and clarity—a year where God has been relentlessly calling me deeper into His purpose. It started on my daughter’s 28th birthday, in a place I never expected to encounter Him so clearly: a shopping mall.
I walked through the aisles, overwhelmed by the sheer excess. Shelves stacked with trinkets, gadgets, and things that served no real purpose surrounded me. The sheer number of choices suffocated me, reminding me how easily the world’s noise can distract us. My heart grew heavier as I wandered further. In the play area at the center of the mall, moms and kids spent their day surrounded by these distractions. I wondered, where is the purpose in this? What eternal impact can this have?
Recognizing the Battlefield
In that moment, God revealed a truth to my heart: We are living on a battlefield. Not a battlefield of flesh and blood but one of eternal significance. A battle for truth, for purpose, for God’s kingdom.
This wasn’t just a call to recognize the battle; it was a call to engage in it. The enemy would love nothing more than to destroy me and the work God has called me to. God reminded me that He gave us His armor for this reason. He equips us to stand firm, to fight with courage, and to bring His light into a world shrouded in darkness.
Equipped for the Fight
I believe that the key to fighting this spiritual battle is consistent time in God’s Word. It is in His Word that we find strength, wisdom, and the clarity to navigate life’s challenges. The Bible serves as our sword, our guide, and our source of hope in a world desperate for truth. Without it, we lack the tools to stand against the enemy’s schemes.
This conviction only deepened as my father’s health began to decline. As I sat by his hospice bedside, the weight of eternity felt more real than ever. Tears filled my eyes as I grappled with the reality that I am the only believer in my family. My heart aches for the lost, especially for those closest to me. It’s a sobering reminder that people are dying all around us, many without the hope of Christ. Someone has to bring them the Gospel message of hope. Someone has to point them to the only One who can save.
The Birth of Watered By the Word
But I know I can’t do this alone. God is calling me to raise an army of Christian women—women deeply rooted in their identity in Christ, equipped with Biblical truth and unshakable faith. These women will go into the world, confident and prepared to share the Gospel message with the lost.
This is why I am so passionate about the work God has called me to do. He called me to create a community for His daughters—a space where they receive tools and support to grow spiritually and mature in their faith. And so, Watered By the Word was born. Through this community, I have the privilege of helping women dive deeply into God’s Word, moving beyond surface-level understanding. My desire is for them to see Jesus more clearly, understand His heart, and apply His truth to their everyday lives as they go boldly into the world with the Gospel message.
We don’t have time to waste. The distractions of the world are countless, and the enemy uses them to keep us from living intentionally for God. We are called to rise above the noise, to put on His armor, and to fight for kingdom impact. The battlefield is real, but so is our God, and He has already won the victory.
A Burning Bush Moment
This year has been a burning bush moment for me, a year where God has spoken clearly and set my heart ablaze for His purpose.I have resolved to live intentionally, equip others to do the same, and engage in the battle for His kingdom. Together, as women of faith, we can stand firm, share the Gospel with boldness, and bring the hope of Christ to a world that so desperately needs Him.
