The fields are ripe. Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” This truth echoes today. Christian women must step into the harvest. But being willing is not enough. We must be equipped for the harvest.Equipped to recognize the season. Equipped with tools that allow us to gather what God has already prepared.
Recognizing the Season
Too often, we believe we have endless time. Life feels busy, distracting, and urgent. We think, “I’ll focus on my relationship with Jesus later, when things calm down.” But later never comes. The clock is ticking, especially for women 50 and older. This is our final season. If not now, when?
The harvest is ready. People are hurting, searching, and longing for hope. Accepting the call means embracing our identity in Christ. It means living with purpose and sharing the Gospel. We cannot delay.
Equipped with the Right Tools
A farmer cannot bring in a harvest with empty hands. In the same way, we need the tools God has provided. Scripture is our foundation. Prayer connects us to the Father. Fellowship strengthens us. Our spiritual gifts and the armor of God prepare us for battle.
Equipped for the harvest means using the tools, not just having them. It means knowing how to use them. Through study, prayer, and intentional growth, we move from “I’m not ready” to “Here am I, send me.” God equips those He calls. Even when I feel ill-equipped, He provides what I need, walking with me each step.
Daily Practices for Readiness
Harvest requires consistency. Daily habits prepare our hearts and sharpen our tools. Time in Scripture keeps us rooted. Silence and solitude with Jesus align our hearts with His. Prayer strengthens us. Bible study deepens our understanding.
But none of us were meant to do this alone. Weariness is normal. Life wears us down. Yet we have community in Christ. Sisters in faith encourage us, lift us up, and remind us of the mission. If you feel discouraged, come. You are not alone.
God’s Power in the Harvest
What if more women stepped into the harvest, fully equipped and obedient? God’s power would be unleashed in mighty ways. Lives would be changed. The lost would find hope, and believers would grow in maturity. Could we see revival? I believe we could.
This is the vision behind my ministry. Through community Bible study, scripture memorization, prayer, and time in the Word, we grow together. In Watered By the Word, women are supported to build strong habits of faith. Together, we become women who are ready and equipped for the harvest.
The first step is simple. Make an intentional decision to spend time in the Word and prayer today. You don’t need to do it alone. Come alongside other women who are walking this journey. The harvest is ready. Will you step into it?
