Sugar Fast Day 12
Do you love God’s Word? My favorite scripture verse is about hiding God’s Word in my heart (Psalm 119:11). As I mentioned yesterday, I am on a journey away from sugar and towards creativity. Psalm 119 is the longest Psalm in the Bible—176 verses all about the psalmist’s LOVE for God’s Word. I was inspired to create a Psalm 119 Scripture Song to help me meditate on its truth and let scripture dwell richly in my heart.
If you don’t know, the psalms were originally put to music. So, as any serious musician would, sometimes I like to sing through these ancient songs. About a year ago, I sat down and wrote Psalm 119 Scripture Song, composing a unique melody for each of its 26 sections. Singing these verses has deepened my love for scripture and reinforced my commitment to hiding God’s Word in my heart.
In the spirit of expressing my creativity instead of drinking a cup of coffee or eating a piece of cake, here is the first Psalm 119 song I’ve arranged and recorded. I pray it blesses you and inspires you to experience scripture in a fresh, meaningful way.
